A Personal Note regarding
a BIG announcement to my friend a CCW Guardian
from Patrick Kilchermann,
founder of the Concealed Carry University
Friend:

In a week or so, I'm going to be making a *huge* announcement to the greater Concealed Carry University audience.

This is probably the single biggest announcement I'll ever be able to make to you.

But I wanted to give you in particular a heads-up on this so that you can know what to expect and what it will mean for you.

Here goes, my friend:
By now, the fact that you're here (and through my emails and podcast and the professional training I've developed  - like my Complete Concealed Carry Guide and Master Handgun Accuracy) and any other training you’ve received, I believe you are well on your way in developing your knowledge and your realistic understanding for your capabilities and limitations as an armed Guardian.

But today I've got an important question for you.

Here it is:
What would the perfect
Concealed Carry training tool look like?
Well, let me share this with you...

I founded the Concealed Carry University because of potentially dangerous errors I saw with much of concealed carry education, but I had no idea if there were other people out there like me… People who thirsted for truth, and who were wise enough to know they weren’t getting it from your average ‘gun blog’, YouTube channel, or gun magazine.

Well, here you are! A quick word about WHO you are:
YOUR ROLE AS A GUARDIAN
I’m ecstatic to have a virtuous group of friends and peers to travel alongside in life (and devote my life to) here in this CCU Alumni. Thank you for that.
“CCU Alumni are as diverse as their careers and passions, but are united by one desire: to feel responsible, confident and effective while going armed.”
You are rare. Based on my surveying, Guardians are between 5% and 8% of the population. Some turn toward careers in the police, the military, or in other Guardian roles such as firefighting. But most of us are spread all over the map.

CCU alumni come in the form of machinists, accountants, elementary school teachers, Broadway performers, commercial airline pilots, Naval Admiralty, field front-liners and company commanders, CEOs, CFOs, entrepreneurs, and business owners – you name it.
MY GOALS → WHERE I WANT TO LEAD YOU
If I may be direct: I want to build REAL warriors. Warriors who are beacons of virtue and pillars of strength to those around them. Warriors who are actually and efficiently capable of turning violence into peace by shutting down attacks using FORCE if required…

…and in the blessed chance that they never need to use their skills, to help guide them and walk with them in their journeys so that the martial-art-discipline of concealed carry makes them better people and improves their lives in every department.

Now I’m sure you wear many ‘hats’ in life (I am a Father and Husband before anything else), but I know that IF YOU’RE HERE, THEN warrior-hood (or being a true Guardian) is part of your calling… it IS a role that you were born to fulfill…. and I know that I can help you fill that role very well.

Many people have affirmed that the training you just invested in is your first and greatest step yet.
YOUR NEXT STEP: DEVELOP COMBAT WISDOM
As you see above:

After a career in the realm of Concealed Carry spent trying to CUT OUT every ounce of fat, fluff, myths, misconceptions and dangerous bad habits... and to find out EXACTLY and ONLY what a concealed carry warrior truly needs to know... I believe your next step is to obtain Combat Wisdom.

That's right:
Without requiring you to devote your life to the painstaking and astronomically minutea of training full time...

I want to make you Combat Wise.

...so that when the hairs begin standing up on your neck, your mouth becomes dry as a bone, and your heart dumps into 2nd gear, you have a second-nature understanding of:
  • WHETHER to engage.
  • WHEN to engage.
  • HOW to engage.
  • HOW the situation is going to play out, even before you draw.
I want you to come to the highest quality decision as quickly as possible. And when engagement is necessary… when your pistol clears its holster and you’re bringing it up to eye-level... I want your expectations and actions to be loaded with certainty and confidence:
  • Exactly HOW the bystanders around you will react, and how soon they’ll begin reacting.
  • Exactly how YOU will react before, during, and following that first shot.
  • Exactly HOW and WHERE to move.
  • Exactly HOW to shoot / apply force.
  • Exactly HOW to finish the fight based on your attacker’s reactions.
Knowing the answers to these questions – ALL OF THEM – are key determining factors in whether or not you are successful in a self-defense engagement, especially if your attacker’s eyes are on you the moment it becomes necessary to begin moving your hand the 10,000 mile distance to your carry position.

“The more combat wisdom you can obtain, the more clear your mind and calm your body will be once (if) violence finds you.”
“We *need* the LESSONS from combat *BEFORE* we are forced to experience combat. Catch 22? Not anymore.”
“Victorious warriors win first, and then go to battle. Defeated warriors go to battle first, and then seek to win.” – Sun Tsu, Art of War
That's right: Knowing the answers is 100% of the game. It's 100% of the challenge.

BUT KNOWING IT IN OUR MINDS DOESN'T REALLY HELP US.

Give a room of monkeys the layout of a threatening situation featuring three ex-con felons, one of whom is already wanted for murder.... and eventually they will come up with a perfect plan.

Knowing things in our minds is too slow. Fresh soldiers out of boot camp or pilot school KNOW everything.

BUT THEIR SENSES AND INTUITION ARE JUST AS UN-EDUCATED AND INEXPERIENCED AS THE DAY THEY GOT THEIR FIRST HAIRCUT.
Instead, Combat Wisdom:
  • is when your BODY knows the right answers.
  • it's when your SUBCONSCIOUS knows the right answers.
  • it's when your INTUITION (your sixth sense) knows the right answers.
  • it is PURE, SURVIVAL, INSTINCTIVE GOLD.
Once you have combat wisdom, you will know. You will understand, and you will be more calm and in control.
The Problem is This....

Until now, there has been only one way to obtain combat wisdom:
....to be in and survive enough gunfights.
But I know you can see:
This is the WORST POSSIBLE Way to Learn to Survive anything.
This would be like depriving our nation's teens of driver's ed. "Good luck... if you make it past your first two years, you're going to do great."

It would be like throwing kids out of boats to teach them to swim.

And yet…. many modern schools of thought within Concealed Carry Education tell us that until we are tested, we won’t know if we have what it takes to survive or not.

I've heard this a hundred times from people who call themselves instructors.

I hope this sounds as absurd to you as it does to me, but this attitude of “jump in head first and see if you make it” has been around for generations.

In the second World War, pilots were given as much training as could be afforded, but at the end of it all the attitude was one of, “whether you can survive your first encounter or not is anyone’s guess. You either “have it” or you don’t… good luck!”

And statistically, with every engagement that a pilot survived, the greater his odds became of surviving the next one.
Why?

Because experience allowed these lucky pilots to learn the lessons that can only be taught within the context of REAL VIOLENCE.

They learned the lessons that have to be felt. The lessons that can’t exactly be put to words.

They developed… COMBAT WISDOM.
The absurd fact of the matter that I refuse to accept for myself or my students, however, is that for many pilots, their first engagement was their last.

(NOBODY wanted to fly on a bombing mission with a brand new B17 pilot, for example. Their bunkmates didn’t even want to learn their names until after the first mission! That is how huge the odds were that they would die, and the pain of losing friends would only grow worse.)
They were sent in unprepared, in the same state in which many people carry concealed.
(Few people realize just how un-trained American bomber and fighter pilots were at the peak of the air war in Europe, in 1943.

Many of the top pilots had fewer than 30 hours of air time over the continent; the vast majority had, at the time of their first engagement, fewer than 10 hours in the aircraft model they were flying! It's no wonder so many got chewed up.

But I do NOT want this for you.)
“Without Combat Wisdom, our survival depends mostly on luck."
WE CANNOT AFFORD TO CARRY
WITH THIS ‘CAN I SURVIVE? WAIT AND SEE!’ ATTITUDE.
We have families and friends and roles in life that depend on us. We enjoy life too much, and to reduce a good life to the chew-toy of a wolf is a waste, and it is unjust.
WE NEED COMBAT WISDOM… BEFORE COMBAT FINDS US.
We should be unwilling to accept anything less than obtaining as much real combat wisdom in advance as we can. And taking you into the beating heart of REAL GUNFIGHTS and giving you this wisdom is my primary goal from this point forward – now that you’ve ‘graduated’ from The Armed American’s Complete Concealed Carry Guide to Effective Self-Defense.
So… HOW CAN WE DEVELOP COMBAT WISDOM?
4 years ago, I really, truly believed that putting you within a series of Force-on-Force scenarios was going to be the ‘secret sauce’. I first became certified in Simunition™ Safety and Scenario creation back in 2011, and now I’m one of the few private individuals to own a collection of Sim™ pistols, rifles, safety gear, and thousands of rounds of Sim™ ammo.

(In fact, at one time I was told after another $30,000 round of purchases that mine was the largest private collection of this top-notch training gear! in the nation!)
“Pat gaining the initiative on an already-drawn gun, and putting 6 shots on target while gaining distance and without getting hit. Sim training is incredible, but I have discovered that it is NOT THE BEST WAY to gain COMBAT WISDOM…”
My plan was to develop three force-on-force training academies across the country where people like you could come and be thrown into REAL WORLD threatening scenarios featuring trained actors. I even had some investors on the line!
But here’s one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned after spending a fortune on this equipment: gunfights (real or simulated) are simply too fast-paced to learn within!

They kick off and then they are OVER - usually before your mind can catch up with the reality of the scenario.

(And the more skilled and experienced your THREAT is... the FASTER it will be over!)
At that moment you learn
a potentially very painful reality:

You either already know what to do
and you do it and win...

...or you don’t know what to do,
and you lose.
And that leads me to an announcement possibly even more exciting than the release of my Complete Concealed Carry Guide all those years ago…

The announcement of a brand new educational tool that I hope to see completely revolutionize the way we responsibly armed Guardians develop ourselves and keep ourselves sharp.
THE REAL ANSWER TO
OBTAINING COMBAT WISDOM… BEFORE COMBAT:
That's right.... I believe I have come up with a solution to this problem.
  • A method of obtaining a necessary degree of Combat Wisdom so that we have it with us when that day comes.
  • A way for us to educate our senses and sharpen our decision-making abilities.
  • A responsible and balanced way for us to become acquainted with violence and violent people, so that we’re not stunned into submission should we ever encounter them face to face – but instead, can react appropriately and justifiably.
"This concept and educational tool that I’ve come up with is one that’s so simple, so rational, and so effective that I cannot believe it hasn’t existed for decades.

But: Now it does. And this is something I want every single one of my students and CCU Alumni to experience; bar none.

And once you expose yourself to this brand new tool, I believe you will agree with me: absolutely everyone who carries a concealed handgun for self-defense should receive this education and training."

And now, I want YOU
to have a crack at it.

Please: go and have a look at what I've created. Other than my focused pool of peers and experts who have already gone through and vetted this thing (you'll see their words on the following page), YOU are getting the very first look at this page:
Thank you for your friendship and devotion to this cause, fellow Guardian.
